Family  Fun  at  The  Zoo

Saturdays have become very precious to us.  It is really the only day that we get to spend together as a family and do things.  The rest of the week is full of work and meetings.  This past Saturday we decided to see what the local zoo here in Aurora had to offer.  It is a free zoo, so we really couldn’t go wrong.  It was the perfect day to go since it was overcast and not sweltering heat.  The zoo was good and not too big.  I think our favorite exhibits were the cougar, wolves, crocs/alligators and the owls.  At one end of the zoo they have a park with toys and so we let Nik go play for a while.  We didn’t stay too long because the humidity was getting worse and sweating just because you are standing still isn’t exactly pleasant.  Nik had fun but was hot and sweaty so we let him play in the splash pad on the other side of the zoo.  (The people who planned this zoo were really smart.  Putting a park, a zoo, a splash pad and a dinosaur exhibit all together was smart.  Apparently there is also a swimming pool, golf course, and discovery building as well.)  We all had a fun time.

  1. Lindsey,
It's so fun to see your blog. I enjoy seeing what you guys are up to. Ian has gotten so big and your boys are so cute. You've been dealing with a lot moving so far, just having a baby. Your photos are adorable. Our blog is whitesides.blogspot.com. I've been a slacker keeping up but I'm slowly getting caught up. Looks like you guys are finding fun stuff to do while you are there. It will be fun to see you guys when you come around Christmas time.
