Babies First Real Photo Shoot
I
absolutely love baby pictures. Babies
change so quickly I feel like you have to try and capture it all as fast as you
can. So in planning for Ian, I had some
great ideas of what I wanted to do when he was actually here. I didn’t get even half of the photos I wanted
to get, but I was really happy with what I was able to get. Everyone was super good, and made it
fun.
We
decided to do the photos ourselves, since most photographers that I like want
exorbitant amounts of money for a photo shoot. (Sheesh! Don’t they know that
real people don’t have that much extra money for things like pictures?!) I also really liked the idea of not having to
leave the house to take the pictures. Because lets be honest here, as a mom who
just delivered a baby, the thought of getting myself ready, getting your new
precious little baby ready, getting everyone else in the family ready, plus packing
and lugging around all the stuff everyone will need, is a dreaded thought. So we had a great family photo shoot right at
home, and it was great. Ian was a star,
and Nik was supper funny through the whole thing. Even Ryan was energized, positive and
extremely helpful. (I am a seriously lucky lady here.)
We
started with some really sweet pictures with Ian and his daddy. Loved it!
Then
we did the brothers shots. Nik was funny
in these shots. At this point, Nik was
still a little unsure of Ian and didn’t want to touch him, at all. Every time we asked him to get close to Ian
he would laugh and try to scoot away. At
one point we asked him to give Ian a kiss, which Nik thought was the funniest
thing ever and wouldn’t do it. I think
one of the funniest moments through the shoot was when Ian would fall towards
Nik. Nik would bend and twist out of the
way so that they wouldn’t touch each other. Ha Ha! I was even able to catch it
in a photo! Love that.
The
next weekend, we were able to get some pictures of Ian with me. It was Mothers day, and it was a wonderful
gift to me. I am so blessed as a
mother. I don’t really deserve such
wonderful children, but I thank Heavenly Father for them everyday and try to do
my best as their mom.
